7 Day Plumbing Services recently completed a full boiler upgrade for a customer in Macclesfield Town Centre, replacing an ageing non-condensing Vaillant boiler with a modern Ideal Logic Max Combi² 30kW.

The existing boiler had reached the point where replacement parts were no longer available, preventing it from being serviced or repaired economically. Upgrading to a new condensing boiler provided a more efficient, reliable and future-proof heating solution.

The installation included a full chemical system flush before commissioning the new boiler, together with a magnetic filter to help protect the system from sludge and debris.

To suit the property's layout, a condensate pump was installed to discharge condensate safely where the drain was too far from the boiler for gravity drainage. A flue extension was also fitted in accordance with the manufacturer's installation requirements, and a section of the gas supply pipe was upgraded to comply with current standards.

Following commissioning and safety testing, the customer now benefits from a modern, energy-efficient heating system complete with a 10-year manufacturer's warranty and a Hive smart thermostat for convenient heating control.
